I have to say after much trial and error I have decided that a small leak is good. I put heavy foil on the bottom of the door due to big gap but around the edges smoke is a good thing. Spreads it around :-)
I put a rope gasket on Maude and I hated it. I riveted it and it weathered and came apart. I am thinking metal weather seal for a door might work

I agree smoke is smoke and heat is heat I do both with great results. I would never go by "The Neeley's" Not to start the foil no foil thing again but I don't foil.
