    Buyer Beware?

G S, you're a braver soul than I am. I don't buy ground meat from any retail stores hidden inside opaque packaging.

When you have to give your dog pills but they want to outsmart you

Just one of the many reasons I refuse to have a cat.

When you have to give your dog pills but they want to outsmart you

I've always used peanut butter. Just make sure you get them hooked on it first. Then it's like crack. Back when I was a young kid I had some elderly neighbors with a beautiful Eskimo Spitz named Nikki. Nikki developed an on going problem that required daily meds. They fought with her for a...

    Hunting And Fishing Thread!?!

This is still quite common in Arkansas. Ranging from established butcher shops to part timers who only open for business during hunting season and vacation or work other jobs the rest of the year.

    Butifarra Soledeña

Anthony Bourdain would have, and Andrew Zimmern would be, all over trying some of those butifarras.

    Weber kettle prices.

Based on my limited time on the Weber Kettle Club forums I'm fairly certain they don't make 'em like they used to. You see that complaint too often over there.

    Cookware

I disagree. My question was more rhetorical in nature. Natural gas is cheap enough and efficient enough to make electrical generation economically feasible aka profitable.

    Cookware

If electricity is so much better for the world than natural gas and so efficient then why do electric companies generate using natural gas?

    Brisket temps for offeset

My offset liked to run around 250F but I have done them as high as 325F. If cooking hot be prepared for the possibility the brisket may finish at a bit higher internal temp before probing tender.

Time for some more Baby Back Ribs

Ribs sure look good! I wonder if Byron has changed recipes. I used it quite a bit about 20 years ago. Back then it was Very salty although I don't remember it being all that spicy. It was designed as a butt rub so you can expect it to have more salt because of the size and volume of a butt...

    Made in the USA Grill/Smoker

Homemade Chili + Cinnamon Rolls = WOW

There are times when I feel the same way 'bout folks puttin' sugar on rice instead of gravy. Of course there are times I do appreciate a good rice pudding with cinnamon and raisins and the like.:emoji_wink:

    What else to dehydrate

Pretty much any fruit you like. I always thought dried apples were a treat when a kid. Homemade raisins take some time but are wonderful! Tomatoes. You can also make great tomato powder from dried 'maters. One time a reefer truck came to pick up some stuff from the plant I worked at. It had...

Flat Racks vs Hanging for Jerky

If cured and then dehydrated and/or smoked it should last well at ambient temps providing it's not fatty. That was the original purpose of jerky. Granted I've always kept mine in the fridge for added safety and have never made enough for it to last long enough to freeze.

    Crowd Cow?

Just a little friendly info. Some of the malware software I run doesn't like your link. The part it objects to is: crowdcow . pxf . io / xL7J51, whatever that is. Says it's on an ad and tracking server list. May not be a worry but thought I should alert everyone.

Homemade Chili + Cinnamon Rolls = WOW

Can't believe this woman says she's from Arkansas. Wonder where she came from and where she was when she was a lunch lady cook?? She's making CornCake or a cake with a little cornmeal. Way too much flour for a proper Southern CornBread. Should be about 2:1 cornmeal to flour. No sugar allowed...

    I might not have retired

I had always heard Coors allowed beer drinking during work. A quick web search says that at one time Budweiser, Miller, and Coors all permitted drinking during breaks. However this practice was stopped due to the fatality of a worker leaving a plant.
