First Pork Shoulder in Pit Boss

It always depends. I have started smoking way early and if it gets done before dinner, I just hot hold until time to cut and serve.

    Father's Day my way!

What a day yesterday. Also, Happy Father's Day to all you smokers. I went overboard with the pictures as I started my process Saturday night with meat prep, boxing and some scotch. Here is the report with photographic evidence. I hope you all enjoy: 11 lb brisket, I trimmed the fat to be no...

First Pork Shoulder in Pit Boss

Thanks VOL, the bark was awesome. I also hit with some apple juice mist a few times through out to keep it from getting to dry.

Smoking ribs and chicken together in electric smoker - ok idea?

Load it all at the same time. With the electric smoker, the closer to the coil, the faster it should cook. Meat probe on the chicken. If you need a ton more time on the ribs, hold hot on the yard birds while the pork finishes. Good luck. Post some pics!

PIT BOSS 5-SERIES WOOD PELLET VERTICAL SMOKER vent adjustment

I have the series 4. The auger automatically pushes the pellets depending on temperature. I set mine at my desired cooking temp and that thing does the rest. I think yours should have this feature like mine but if there is a prime button, you can force more pellets into the fire box for a hit of...

First Pork Shoulder in Pit Boss

Ran one of my favorites. 10.5 hours at 235F. Pulled off at 202F. Pull apart, great bark and juicy!! Dry rub of my own mix of SNP, garlic powder, paprika, chili powder and brown sugar.

    Pit Boss Series 4 Vertical

Yessir GMC, I am excited to see what else is going in there soon. Going basic for Father's day with some baby backs and whole chickens. The temp range on it is an awesome feature and the meat is within one degree of my external thermometer.

    Pit Boss Series 4 Vertical

I have heard mixed reviews on pellet smokers from fellow smoking enthusiasts so I was a little hesitant to really check into them. I had a Masterbuilt MS30 for my first smoker and wasn't a huge fan of the failures due to the control panel and chips not smoldering at normal.al smoking temps. This...
