Well, I am smoking a turkey tomorrow, and it is in for the brine...
I am also trying my first fatty....I rolled it out too thin and had trouble with the wrap up, but never gave up. Hope it turns out well....more Q-View tomorrow.
Sorry guys, just now getting back to reading the responses. This is going to my wife's class of 4 year olds, no kitchen to reheat the bird in. Sounds like the safest bet would be to smoke it Sunday evening, frig it after it rest, and slice it Monday morning to pack in ice to take to school. I...
I am really enjoying this forum. I have always liked cooking and especially liked grilling, but never was extremely happy with my results....until now. I have gotten serious about it and I now use a thermometer on everything I grill or smoke. Things turn out so much better than before, so I...
My wife needs me to have a turkey smoked for her class at school (Thanksgiving Feast). I really don't want to babysit this all night to have it ready for her to take to school Monday morning, so....if I smoke it Sunday evening and wrap it in foil and refrigerate, then reheat early Monday...

Thanks for the input, my dad is a great guy, hope to grow up just like him. I am headed out of town on business, but will have time to kill in the evenings. I will likely be hitting Lowes and Home Depot and getting my ideas together for this weekend to do some work on the new project.
Yeah, I think I am gonna just leave it as a grill for now, and maybe do some indirect heat cooking also. Can't wait to clean it up and get to cooking....
Well, I decided I did not want to use my CharGrill anymore to grill burgers and steaks and only use it to smoke meat. I mentioned to my dad that I was gonna pick up something to grill on, and he said he had one that I coul dhave and get it out of his way. Well, now that I have it home, I am...
Well, the turkey turned out nice. I am not a fan of white meat even on chicken, but this was OK, the dark was very nice a juicy. The pork pulled nicely and was very good. My first try was a success, in my opinion. Can't wait to try some tweaks and give it another go. Here is a little qview!
