    need a combo smoker grill

Don't know anything about them, but another person on here asked about them, it looks interesting and at a decent price point, not sure how it would work never looked at one in person. Brinkmann doesn't show one with the fryer on their website but do show the 5 burner with smoker...

    Rectec what's bad about them

I have spoke to Ron a couple of times, he sent me a new auger motor saying he didn't think that would fix it. I put it in and I could tell it run differently, but still no good, I called back and he told me that I should set it at 350 and then let it stabilize for 20 minutes before setting to...

    Rectec what's bad about them

I have had mine since labor day, I am not sure what to actually call them, they aren't a smoker as they really don't impart a smokey taste, and mine can't e called a grill as it takes an hour to get it to 450° to do an 8 minute steak. I have a cookshack electric and have been used to it giving...

Injected some Leg Quarters for today.

Injected some leg quarters with some of the sauce I made yesterday, hit with some garlic pepper in to the pellet cooker spread a little of the sauce on once they hit 170° and left them coast to 178°, they didn't look pretty but tasted pretty good.

    aluminum foil health risk?

Cook like you want top Sir, everyone has their own thoughts, I use foil to wrap  in at times. If you are not wanting the foil touching your food, stop by Sams and grab a roll of butcher paper 1000 foot roll is like 18 bucks and 18" wide. Wrap the food in it and then in some towels, or once...

Success on the new to me cookshack

Should have made 2, that way you would have leftovers. Those cookshacks are great cookers, I really like mine, it is just one of the small ones about 12 years old and never an issue.

    Cave man style chicken

Even I had to go back and reread, I completely skipped over the cooked to internal temp part, ashamed to admit it but did it more then once. Did you cook the steaks right on the coals? I watched good old Alton Brown cook a steak like that and also just cook one over the screaming hot chimney or...

    Cave man style chicken

How long do we give them a quick sear, and then what do we do with them. I watched someone do steaks like that in a video. Very interesting. They look fantastic BTW.
