    How much charcoal did you use to keep your temp that high? Just curious, because I always have water in my pan and wandered what the temp difference would be if I removed the water.

    Brinkmann Smoke King Deluxe value?

    If the internal grates/food racks aren't in good condition I wouldn't pay $100. I have never used or owned one, but my first smoker was a vertical brinkmann smoker and I had to mod mine to make it burn efficiently but still had to tend to it a lot to keep it at the right temp.     Perhaps put as much as you would water for a normal pot roast or a 1/2 to full can. If the meat isn't fully cooked then put it on high for a couple of hours and turn down to low once cooked through. Just be sure to check on it while on high yo make sure the crock lot doesn't sclrch the meat...
