Best place online to look for a Traeger

Call your local Costco if you have one. They have been getting them in for short periods. They had the Texas model for $799 new w 180 degree thermostat which is the best price I have seen. Second best price is this guy in Idaho he sold a couple buddies of mine pits for $899 no tax free shipping...

    New from Washington

Popcan33, Welcomf to SMF... You don't live far from me at all. I'm in tacoma near Point Defiance park. I used to be a hardcore boater and spent many weekends sleeping on my Bayliner 245 moored at Arabella's in the harbor. I still make it to the Tides Tavern from time to time. They have great...

Our 4th feed, air show & fireworks show w qview

Thanks guys, Gus (The Bulldog) and I finished up the last of the pulled pork this evening after a few hours of pressure washing the deck with the view. I hate painting.... I loved the pork! So did Gus. He likes slaw on top of his too.

Ha Ha! LOL This is why I like this forum! I enjoy a good sense of humor. I do tend to get to technical some times. Your right... It all comes down to the Q! Well... truth be told.... Most folks can cook just as tasty of smoked foods on a $200 cooker as they can on a very expensive one. The big...

    SmokingPits custom smoker build

Thanks all.. Here is a chart that shows the temp test data I did on the Treager Texas VS the WH-1320. The flatter the line the better. This is the type of thing we are going for. Very Consistant temps. What we are shooting for is extremely consistant temps throughout the chamber. In fact I want...

    SmokingPits custom smoker build

Thanks all... Biaviian, the knobs on the doors are Thermometers. They are covered with aprotective paper so they don't get scratched. The thing is starting to take shape but still looks a bit rough. The grates are still the old bad ones that came with the original WH-1320.

    SmokingPits custom smoker build

Hi all, thought I'd share my build now that it is coming along. I refer to this as project "Thin Blue Smoke". After cooking on my Traeger Texas and a Louisiana Whole Hog WH-1320 I noted the positives and negatives (in my opinion) of both and started working with a builder on a custom design. I...
