Making your own rub (how to get started?)

I and my family love the rub from Walt Disney World's Flame Tree Rest. at the Animal Kingdom. Both sweet and savory, not spicy or hot. I do add variations such as red pepper flakes and some herbs to it. Try it out. I found the recipe here: http://allears.net/din/recipes/rec_bbq.htm .  The ribs...

    Interior of mini fridge

I will be getting a mini fridge to make a smoker. I intend to cold smoke, but would like to do jerky, sausages, beef sticks etc in it. I will not cook at high temps like a butt or ribs, but maybe high 100's or very low 200's. My questions is: should i pull out the plastic interior and leave...

    Country-Style Breakfast Sausage

Made some of this awesome breakfast sausage too!! Delicious for sure!! I used my Kitchen Aid grinder attachment. The second grind was a pain. I can see myself stepping up to bigger grinder and stuffer. Has to do both as I hate uni-tasker tools. BTW, the shoulder at Sams was $2.48/lb. Not great...
