I've had my dual fuel for about 6 months or so. Used some Nomex gasket (Amazon) on the doors and use a cast iron skillet for wood chunks. Took me awhile to dial in my cooking temperatures but have it pretty consistent now. Seems to work best smoking at about 230* F, wood chunks have a tough time...
I have a Masterbuilt Pro Duel Fuel. This is a nice little smoker that will use propane and/or charcoal and is within your budget. Can be used right out of the box or some easy mods can be done to make it a little better. Use the search on here for more info on this smoker.

Was a little more on the rare side, but I trust my Maverick. Seared for just a couple minutes per side, guessing my grill was around 400* F. Excellent flavor, really like tri tip!

Sliced up and ready to plate with some...

Critter - I have a little 10 inch round grill that sets on the burner. My pan sits on top of the grill. I could use a little larger CI pan, but I found this little 7.5 inch pan and it was cheap.
I use wood chunks and a little bit of lump charcoal in a cast iron skillet that rests on top of the burner, no problems at all with this. Not exactly sure how long a tank lasts, but I think you should be able to get at least 20 hours out of a tank. I did a butt that was around 16 hours then...
