Looking at the Masterbuilt Dual Fuel Smoker

I've had my dual fuel for about 6 months or so. Used some Nomex gasket (Amazon) on the doors and use a cast iron skillet for wood chunks. Took me awhile to dial in my cooking temperatures but have it pretty consistent now. Seems to work best smoking at about 230* F, wood chunks have a tough time...

    Need some smoker advice!!

I have a Masterbuilt Pro Duel Fuel. This is a nice little smoker that will use propane and/or charcoal and is within your budget. Can be used right out of the box or some easy mods can be done to make it a little better. Use the search on here for more info on this smoker.

    Sunday Tri Tip

Thanks Disco! And Venture, true the authentic tri tip is grilled over red oak coals. Can't do that on my gas grill, so the closest I can get is smoking it.

    Sunday Tri Tip

Was a little more on the rare side, but I trust my Maverick. Seared for just a couple minutes per side, guessing my grill was around 400* F. Excellent flavor, really like tri tip!

    Sunday Tri Tip

Haven't smoked anything in a couple of weeks so I decided on my go to meat! A little bit of my Santa Maria style rub, Masterbuilt cruising at 230* F with some RO lump and oak chunks for smoke. 2 hours later, IT to 135* and onto the grill for a sear. Sliced up and ready to plate with some...

masterbuilt pro - vent and temp settings

Plum, you should keep the top vent open for all your smoking. I usually keep my bottom vents at about 1\2 - 3\4 open. I also usually smoke everything around 230* F my regulator is set between Med. and Low. I have found it difficult to get smoke at lower cook temps (below 200* F) even with my CI...

Masterbuilt dual fuel - Nuby Questions

Critter - I have a little 10 inch round grill that sets on the burner. My pan sits on top of the grill. I could use a little larger CI pan, but I found this little 7.5 inch pan and it was cheap.

Masterbuilt dual fuel - Nuby Questions

I use wood chunks and a little bit of lump charcoal in a cast iron skillet that rests on top of the burner, no problems at all with this. Not exactly sure how long a tank lasts, but I think you should be able to get at least 20 hours out of a tank. I did a butt that was around 16 hours then...
