smoking a ham tomorrow...tips, advice? first time...

About a 8 pound ham.  Plan is cook it about 11 hours around 200-220.  What should the internal temp be when I pull it if I want it slightly pink? As far as rubs go, Bad Byron's good on a ham??   Any recommendations appreciated! :)

How do you spend your "smoke breaks"?

Well I drink beer.  And usually about a 12 pack.  I've just started smoking but have attended plenty of "smoke outs" and beer is like water at these events. And I usually fire a cigar as well.  Depending on the mood and what cocktail I'm drinking.... Finally, I really enjoyed swimming in the...

Just pulled my first ever pork butt of my new WSM....and WOW

This thing turned out incredible!  About 8.5 hours cooking.  IT was 166 when I pulled it off. Incredible flavor, very tender, and amazing texture IMO.  For my first time on any type of smoker, I'm thrilled at this point. So far, I gotta say I'm impressed with the ease of use of the WSM and the...

so fat side down or up?

I went fat side up... Current temp about 290 so making little adjustments on vent, then checking it 15-20 minutes later...down from 310 man that thing got hot quick!

Okay good tips here. Yes, I will be slicing.  Also was planning on minion method and filling it up with charcoal. Confused on the vents tho.  It seems the top one stays open at all times, but what about the bottom 3? Thanks about to fire up the chimney now...;)

Weber Smokey Mountain vs. Kingsford charlcoal smoker.

Okay interesting. Got my 18.5 and I debated it for awhile.  Was thinking 22.5 but family of four, and at most we host 2 other couples with small kids so the 22.5 seemed a bit overkill.   That said, I cannot wait to fire this up tomorrow morning and drink beer all day.  2nd run will be this...

Weber Smokey Mountain vs. Kingsford charlcoal smoker.

I just got my 18.5 WSM.  First smoke will be in about 12 hours. Anyway, I bought it mainly because I have a Weber Summit Grill, and it's a beast.  Best grill I've owned. So when it came to smokers, I was debating between the WSM, or the Master Forge cuz my cousin had one and it seemed to work...
