    I live in Vinita about 40 minutes north of claremore. No one round here sells lump charcoal so I may end up in claremore to buy some. I think my main prob is the basket for heat source. Mick

    I have tried afew times to smoke stuff and right now it seems i suck worse than a bare butt on a hot leather seat. The poor ex bore the brunt of me not being happy and she left me alone. As of now the ribs have been on the smoker for 5 hours at 200 degrees and at 140 internal temp. Last couple...

    4-5 hours at 200 and losing heat. i felt like i was on a sinking ship. When I checked last the internal temp was round 130-140

    Well today i had ribs on the smoker and I have come to the conclusion that I suck at smoking meat etc. I have a brinkman vert smoker and when I put the charcoal in the thing it never went over 200 no matter what i did, so they r sitting in a vertical steel box at 200 degrees to be forgotten...

    Yes I did the brining thing on them. I let them sit for about 18 hours. I did it the night before then pulled them from the brine about 3pm yesterday when i got home from work
