Okay I'm new to smoking for about 4 weeks now I have a barrel grill with side firebox and so it may sound stupid but what is a reverse flow smoker and how does it work? And so what kind of flow would you say my barrel grill smoker would be? Sorry for dumb question but not familiar with some of...
I have one of those long spray wands that look similar to a power washer with the soap container attachment for washing my car that I was thinking about using on my barrel grill with side firebox and I could use some Dawn dish soap instead of car wash soap in the soap dish that screws onto the...
SWEET!! Enjoy many great smokes. Should be long time before you wear out this one lol. I have a coworker that has a smokehouse and he runs his up only around 125F. Just thought would pass that along hope it helps. He also has sassafras growing wild around his place and uses that to smoke with...
Now that its working you should announce it because we all love it here and want to keep SMF going strong for many many years. If there was no SMF we would not any place to gather with cool recipes, tips, ideas and sharing our setups. We all greatly appreciate the hard work that Jeff Phillips...
Thanks tulsajeff it worked perfectly. I don't mind helping out by supporting SMF cuz I think its the best gathering of smokers and grillers from all over the world. I love this place!
All my meats that I pan fry or smoke/grill must be 165 or higher. Even when ordering any kind of meat I always respond well-done when they ask how I want it cooked. I dont like bloody meat it's a turn off for me.
I just read this and followed your link and tells me that there are no account upgrades available. Heck $15 a year for all the recipes and picking up all kinds of tips and getting to see everybody else's cool setups is priceless. I've learned alot from SMF and from Jeff's book "Smoking Meat-The...
I just have a simple Rivergrille Cattlemans charcoal grill with side firebox. But we have lots of fun together. It's sorta like fishing you just have to work at finding the right bait, line test and the right water spot. It's finding the right amount of vent openings, right amount of charcoal...
I would like to send out a huge amount of prayers thoughts and good luck to those in the path of hurricane Nate. May the good lord watch over you all and keep you safe
I use kingsford too and now that you mention it I too have found partially used briquettes when cleaning out my firebox. Sure they light quicker but lately have been finding that some dont burn the whole way some sre still black on some sides and these are the professional brand as to what the...
The stores like Home Depot(I get my wood from here) dont carry alder wood. What are some suggestions to find this? Is it a light or heavy smoke(like mesquite)?
Okay sounds good thanx. I have a spray bottle that I use instead of a mop during my smokes. I recently smoked pork chops and used a melted butter and apple juice to keep the meat from drying out during my smoke and even used apple juice instead of water in my water pan. I could use a half and...
