this might be a stupid question but, the smoker has been going for quite a while now. i put some wood chips in the smoker box and there is still no smoke(after about an hour) . what am i doing wrong? i have never used a electric smoker like this thing before.

I got it at walmart. It was the store display and everything was there including the manual. I will post some pictures tomorrow when i get a chance. Also its not the one with the digital thermometer on top.
I was at the store yesterdayand noticed they had smokers on clearance. I looked around and said to myself..ive never used an electric smoker. So i bought it for $35. Its the masterbilt 30" smokehouse. My question is...how do you guys like them?
i make a good bbq dipping sauce. here is how you make it:
onion
black pepper
kosher salt
light or brown sugar
onion and garlic powder
ketchup
apple cider vinegar

i make a really good rub also (use it on everything i smoke):
Black pepper
Kosher salt...
the rub that i use for the adults has:
kosher salt
black pepper
granulated onion
granulated garlic
paprika
chili powder
i always used brown sugar in my rubs until i tried this rub above once and then i threw away all of my other pork rub recipies.
i am having i party this coming weekend. i am doing 6 racks of ribs but only 2 racks of baby backs. the baby backs are for the kids. What are some good sweet rubs i can use just for the kids. Nothing hot or spicy. Thanks for y'alls help.
When ribs are on sale near me i always stock up and freeze them. I dont care if anyone says dont do that. I have a huge chest freezer full of spare ribs and a couple racks ofvbaby backs. I usually put them in the fridge to thaw for 24-26 hours. If they are still a little frozen i will soak them...
