Welcome from here in the thumb. Another good week and we can over take the SMF. lol This will be one of the best sites you will find. It seems I have not been to the others forums I used to hang out. Lots of great info and different ideas. They have 5 day ecourse on here on smokeing its...
Welcome to the SMF you will find all the help ya need here and many different ways to do it. Lets start with what kinda smoker you are using or what method you are doing them. Me personally I use my smoker for the first hour for the smoke flavor then transfer to a food dehydrater to finish. I...
I don't disagree with what your saying about water. I have not used water for over 4 years and it seems I turn out good food. Just as someone who likes to use water. I always figured one would use what method they feel most comfortable with. This is one subject that could be debated til the...
I personally don't use water I just foil the pan and let it go. If you use sand you want to watch that it doesn't harden in your pan. I read somewhere in another forum where they had trouble like that. I also read where they crumble up foil into balls and put them in the water for heat sink...
Well just had to add this to where do you get your deer meat from. A year back while driving to another a town I noticed some road kills that was missing part of the backs. Thought how strange the animals choose that part to pick at first. Well it seems some guy was cutting out the back...
Hoser here is something to try. With you knob set at the high position rotate left to off. Watch the flame at the low position first then judge accordingly. Play with it a little bit and you should be able to lower your temp. I have done it a couple of times but I don't cook at or smoke...
When I would stop at Gander Mountain to look at what was new I spent hours selling the GOSM smokers. Got so my wife wouldn't go in the store cause once I got to the smokers there was no getting out. Floor manager asked if I would school his help on the smokers so they could help there...
Well I wish I would have seen this sooner but I am still up for it if we do it and I promise q veiw to cause I want to know it happened. This could or should be able to get a lot of participants.
Try cutting out the center of the onion about 1/2 inch from the root. Put a couple pads of butter in the center and then crush a beef bullion cube and put it in the center also. Foil and smoke for about 2 hours until it feels soft squeezeing it. Polk a couple small holes in the top with a...
Welcome you 2 to the SMF family as my wife calls this forum. This forum has brought back my urge to smoke again. Just wish my wife took more of interest in making the product as to giving me orders on what to make for her. lol
TRY rubbing your potatoes with evoo and then dust with some garlic salt or garlic powder then foil and bake. Put a couple small holes in the foil and you will get a little more smoky flavor.
I hope your wife is nicer then my wife. I just got my letter from SSI that after 2 years they agree i am disabled. So she says first check gets her a new car first and I may get a new toy if she so wishes. lol
I'll second what Fatback says. I do mine on high heat and I also stuff with a store bought dressing mix. Butterfly the loin and then retie and heat. I have used it dry right out of the box and it will absorb a lot of the juices into the stove top dressing or make the dressing then stuff it...
I have GOSM Big Block and I traded my GOSM to a friend which I wish I would have kept. I had a Brinkman Electric H2O for 3 years but I prefer the GOSM gasser better. There is a Smoke Hollow type out there that is just about the same as GOSM and comes in different sizes. For electric I...
You could try a commercial brand jerky seasoning such as Hi Mountain. They have a variety of flavors you can choose from and its has cure in it. Kinda a fail safe solution. I have used many of there products.
When I divide mine I go to my local butcher shop and have him freeze it for me then I use my band saw. Then I have a wooden can holder like a bottle of wine rack to rest then cans til they thaw.
