    Masterbuilt Gas Smoker Mods

Thanks for a fast response... I am still on course in that case in getting my smoke daddy. Sure would make life easier than using ducting from my smoker to a cold box. Since time is money, and cost of materials, the smoke daddy seems reasonable. to the members of this forum for all their...

    Masterbuilt Gas Smoker Mods

Question, since you added the smoke daddy, is it the only source of heat, or are you still using propane? I was considering buying a smoke daddy for use with a cold smoking process, but if it is burning your meat, then it would be to hot. TIA Matt aka Rocky

    Pastrami, finally some pastrami!!!

Good score. Last year in May I or should say EX found at cost co, USDA choice corned beef flats at $1 a pound, and told me she bought one for her and my son... HMMM.... I asked her if she bought me any, and of course>>> NOT. I went by the next day and they still had a lot, so I bought 15 and...

    SAMS MES vs 30" model

I have the 40" Sams model, haven't had a problem at all. Reason I went with the 40" over getting the smaller unit is more room = more smoked product. Excellent suggestion on the extended warranty, although I don't have it. Enjoy, Matt aka Rocky

    Crawfish Question From A NewEnglander

Try cooking them as said below boiled or steamed. I have used crab boil, delicious! I have taken it a step further... Remove the meat from the tail after cooking them and cooling them down, meat usually come out in whole pieces. Put on your smoker with smoke of choice, they are great in salads...

    Rib Roast w/Qview

Dang that roast looks awesome!!! Thanks for sharing, and I think I would look forward to the leftovers as much as the rib roast itself. Not sure if everywhere, but Winco has had ribeye roasts in cryo pack at $2.98 a pound for well over a month. I have a couple in the freezer and a few that I...

    English or Irish Bacon

Believe me Dan, I used it, I put every zip code I could think of, including ones from southern calif where I used to live, no hits on TQ, but I do know it works on table salt ;) In my hunt for it, I even tried very large sporting stores that so call cater to the hunters, of course no luck...

    English or Irish Bacon

Not here in northern California, I have been in every major and not so major grocery store within 50 miles of the homestead. Finally had to buy it online this morning. I reckon when these politically correct buyers for these stores sees the word nitrates and trites they panic? So many things on...

    oak to start?

I almost agree, but if you elminate oak for smoke flavoring, you are missing out. IE; Santa Maria BBQ TriTip... mmmmmmmmm

    FINISHING SAUCE (for Pulled Pork)

I smoked up two picnics, shredded up one of them and applied the FS to it, and the other one left plain (figured if I didn't like it with the FS I could doctor up to my likings). I read somewhere in these pages to use half the sauce so that is how I applied it... Was Awesome and IMHO it could...

    Stuffed meatloaf- Good stuff!

emtee... I had to bring the temp up a bit higher because of a guest that was here, she will only eat her hamburger well done. Still was impressed how it came out, even if well done usually gags me! So many variations are possible as far as the stuffing goes, ones imagination can go wild. I...
