I went to Lowes and bought a BBQ grill rack they are the black porcelon kind. Had to cut off inch off one end. They really clean up nice and easy. Think I paid $15 a piece for them.
I know if you get tickets for speeding fast enough you get points to without begging. I have friend the last time I talked to him he had 14 points with 4 to come off soon but he still has 3 unpaid tickets so he can get more points.
Not sure how involved you are with scouts. This maybe a little pricey for what you want. But Bradley Smokers has a portable smoker style. As a thought . Is maybe get the scouts to work on a fund raiser to make this purchase. Here is the Sears page its on...
Fired up try this combo for a dipping sauce. Get some Peach salsa and Sweet Baby Rays and mix the 2 to taste. It will knock your soxs off.
Forgot to add this part. I have hand blender I grind the chunky salsa up with then gradually add the BBQ sauce a little at a time.

Myself I started using the aluminum pans I got for keeping my meats warm when serving. Sometimes I can get them at a dollar store for like 25 to 50 cents a piece They work great in a pinch.
I use the boil and peel method. I would recommend not to cut them half. They will get tuff. I also Ditto the horse radish with a sprinkle of garlic powder after.

The way I seen him use hickory water was in spray bottle and not with a mop. Also I am sure he took some precautions by screening the water thru possible a cheese cloth to help clean the water. I am curious to see how it turns out.

I had a Electric smoker to start with also. What I did was get a aluminum pie plate and then lay it right on the coil. Did it that way for 4 years. You could use a an old cake pan cover with foil and polk a 3 or 4 small holes in it and let it fly.
For along time I thought I needed to add more wood for more smoke. I would sit at the table and have to listen to everyone say what a great smokey flavor the butts had or what eva meat I smoked that day. Under my breath I am cursing at them thinking they don't want to hurt my feelings. So...
