Yes the cart was a nice score! However it is not insulated and a hotplate gets the sides REALLY HOT! So for now it will be a cold smoker until I can be convinced of THE PERFECT method for making this a hot/cold smoker with minimal fuss. Besides... I plan on eventually getting a MES...

Yea.... I am seriously considering making this a dedicated cold smoker and saving up for a nice electric model. It is pretty much perfect for cold smoking as it sits. Decisions decisions..... In all seriousness though it really can be both! It's just finding out the best, cleanest way to go...
