The next time you use dehydrated apples try adding in some apple sauce too. Just watch how much water you add or it can get too wet quick!

Welcome to the forum, Pat. Let me start off with the fact I am no expert on brisket. I've done a couple but they both turned out very good.
Here's what I do. Right or wrong it works for me and comes out tender and tasty.
First I rub the brisket with a mixture of salt, pepper and garlic powder...
I know what you mean about the brisket being scary when you do your 1st one.
I never cared for brisket until I started doing my own. Now I really like to fix them and they taste great!
musicturtle, I'm glad to hear that the pork sirloin turned out good for you.
One of the local grocery stores runs them on sale now and then and I have 4 of them sitting in the freezer now. I usually bone them out and make sausage out of them.
I'll have to try one for some pulled pork one of...
This is an interesting thread. I've been thinking about doing the same thing only making a spicy beef stick type sausage out of them.
I haven't hunted in years but I always enjoyed hunting squirrels, and been thinking about getting out in the woods again. Going have to do it this year.
