I forgot to say I also put in some cumin and brown sugar! I found a basic recipe and then got a little crafty with it. The good thing is I measured and wrote everything down so I can do it again or add or remove certain things as well.
I can't wait either!
I am pleased to announce I made my first sauce Friday night. I have been told to keep it sealed and let it set for a week before opening it which works out nice because I plan on doing a brisket next weekend.
I used the following:
Corn Syrup
Molasses
Apple Cider Vinegar
Tomato Sauce...
That is handy information. My wife's family lives in the Detroit area and her grandparents live in Cleveland so I will be going near both locations. I hate to sound like a moron but, what is the CL?
Shoot me a message anytime. Friday night I made my first batch of homemade BBQ sauce and next weekend sometime I plan on using it on a brisket or ribs so feel free to holler at me and we can drink some beer and eat some good food!
I generally cook mine on the grill as well or on the stove top in a hot cast iron but I was trying something new. I am going to do it again because I see potential if everything is done right.
Just so you guys know I cooked the broil and it was not bad but 30 minutes per pound is too much at 250. If I would have been a little more proactive I would have had it just right. I say 15 minutes per pound at 250 degrees.
What I did was put it in a cast iron pan and about 2 inches of beef...
I go there all the time. The one you posted is in TX which is a bit far for me. I was wondering if you guys could help with other places to shop around. I am hoping someone will post that hidden gym that no one knows about! Thanks though.

I am looking for something equivalent to a Lang 48 original and I was just wondering if anyone knows a secret place online to shop for something like this? I have looked at Ebay, Amazon, Craigslist, and of course Lang's website as well. The thing about buying something like this...
That looks like an awesome butt! I believe this is the only site where I can comfortably say that about another guys butt! When I first started I struggled with butts for some reason and it looks like you nailed that one. I hope it was tender and moist, then dunked in a good BBQ sauce and...
Welcome! I have been smoking and cooking for a while and I thought I knew everything....needless to say these guys here are full of great advice and knowledge when it comes to cooking meat the way man is supposed to, over fire and smoke! Make sure you sign up for the E-Course because it is...
I am going to try it today. I have found some recipes online which I am going to modify. It looks like I need to cook it at 225-250 for 30 minutes per pound. Reach an internal temp of 140 and let it set. My plan is to keep it moist with a beef broth from the pan I put underneath full of...
I have this monster London Broil I bought yesterday and I am looking for some ideas. In the past I have marinaded it in brown sugar and soy sauce mixture and then threw it in a hot cast iron skillet on the stove and cooked it medium rare to rare. They are good like that but can be tough. I am...
Actually my wife does not like ribs! I don't understand how anyone can not like ribs! That is her only downside, but it leaves more for me. Thank you guys for all the comments. I will take $45.00 for the Mesquite Umbrella.
