    I have heard good things about the Vacmaster sealers . I have a Weston and it works great . I have used the vacmaster bags extensively and find them to be excellent . If I were shopping for a sealer today I would probably choose a Vacmaster

    also if you have a water pan in your smoker you will have problems keeping the pellets smoking ....... been there ..... take it out and replace with a pan of sand or rocks covered with foil

    no I dont smoke at 800 ................ but 210 is lower and slower than I was interested in ............ 225-250 is what I was looking for on that smoke   please tell me ... are you an expert or a smartass ?

    I started out with a 5 lb from "The Sausage Maker" , then a 11 lb Cabelas , and then a 15 lb LEM ....... IMHO The 5 lb was too small , its a pain reloading every 5 lb . The 11 lb sucked for reasons I have already stated . I REALLY like my 15 lb LEM . I have bought quite a few things from LEM...

    they leave meat in the bottom of the tub as well ..... its not just the elbow ....... BTW ....... if your using a large stuffing tube you will have 1/4 lb in the tube itself ........ maybe that stuffer is different than the cabelas but they look identicle , probably all made by the same company...

    I had  cabelas 11 lb that is very similar the the one shown . It would leave 1 - 1 1/4 lb of meat in the bottom of the stuffer and the elbow . When you make 10 pound batches as I do that is a REAL PITA .. I sold it and bought a lem 15 lb and I love it .

    How long does everyone season their wood before using in the smoker ? I have some hickory that I cut last Feb. Last weekend I used a couple 4" diameter pieces with bark on it  in my charcoal smoker and I could detect just the slightest bitter flavor . Should it be split . Is Bark on OK ?

    fiber gears work ok UNTIL you try to stuff snack stix ........... then they wont last long,ask me how I know  ...... if you are just stuffing brats and salamis fiber gears are ok
