    Brinkmann Smoke 'n Pit

I have a Brinkmann SNP with an upper rack. I use the minion method all the time. Its the only way to go. I usually put a half full chimney of unlit charcoal in the fire box, then dump a full chimney of lit charcoal on top of that. When it comes up to temp I add some wood chunks on the side. I...

    R.i.p

Please join me in remembering a great icon of the entertainment community. The Pillsbury Doughboy died yesterday of a yeast infection and trauma complications from repeated pokes in the belly. He was 71. Doughboy was buried in a lightly greased coffin. Dozens of celebrities turned out to...

Walmart Smoke 'N Pit and a thermometer

I have the same smoker and you made a smart choice in buying a new thermometer. Cause the stock thermo is waaaay off. Usually by 50 degrees or so. You dont need to be real "savvy" to install your new thermo. All you need is a drill bit, its sheet metal so it'll go through easy. Heres where I put...

First smoke today - a couple of ??

Hi Husker, Welcome to the SMF. I found that adding about 10-12 pieces of charcoal every hour or so will keep your temp steady. As for adding the wood, just toss it on to the side of the coals. Seems to work ok for me. Good luck, pulled pork is very easy to do. Dont forget the q-view.

    Super Bowl brisket w/ q-view

Our local Tom Thumb grocery store was having a sale on brisket for $.88lb on New Years day. Limit 1 per customer. Needless to say, I went to 2 different Tom Thumbs 3 times each, and sent the wife 2 times. I ended up with 8 and still wanted more. They normally run around $1.49-$1.79lb around here.
