Charcol rationing..... 3-4 hour limit
Hi All, I managed to buy up all the charcoal i could before all the stores pulled it for the autumn\winter so have a stock of about 100KG to last me for the next 5-6 months and have figured i have to make it last. First time smoking cheese
Looks excellent Aardvark :) nice Qview :) I have to agree London is a hole, same as Paris. I'm only 15 miles outside and 5 miles from Heathrow but hate having to go there :( The english mostly hate londoners and the french the parisiens... I was presented with an evening menu in a 4* hotel...- jond

Yes, it's on primetime in the evening here in the UK when it's on. I have the utmost respect for the guy, unfortunately i haven't had chance to eat at on of his restaurants YET, certainly in the F word he has challenged some boundaries but educated people on good food and ethical sourcing. Bloody is no where near as offensive as the F word, in fact not very offensive at all. Cheeky Sod, a hard one to explain but used in retort to a comment but not normally offensive. Probably a bit like Smart ***. Jon.- jond

Only a small one @ 4.5LB but it took 12 hours... Rubbed with Kansas City Rub and then into the fridge for 18 hours. Sprayed with Captain Morgan & Apple Juice. Turned out great. Jon. -

Cheers all, it finally came off about 2:30am.. 12 hours and 20 mins in the smoke. Pulled it this morning after resting overnight and man does it taste good :) It was difinitely worth the wait :) pics to follow. Jon. -

Theromoeters are accurate, however i think the new fuel may be the issue re ash. Have just foiled @ 160 and hoping for the rise. I was planning to pull @ 205 is that OK ot can i remove it to rest earlier? Thanks for all the advice! :) Jon. -

Hi all, I have had a butt (4.5lb) on the smoker since 14:20 at a fairly constant 225, it's now been on for 7 hours and still at 153 and not moving, it seems to have stalled since 146 and risen slowly, 2 hours plus. I know the oven is frowned upon but any suggestions, the only other option i... -

I agree, i have one that has been sat at 149 for about half an hour. Once it starts rising again it should move upwards quite steadily. Good luck :) It will be worth the wait. Jon. -

Thanks all, Have been hitting it with Captain Morgan & Apple juice at regular intervals.. it's been on just over 4 hours and is at 149 currently, looks like i'll be going to bed later than planned lol Jon.
