Lang 60 vs. Meadow Creek TS120

More Lang this, Lang that. I have a Meadowcreek TS120P. I can slide in the charcoal pan and grill small or large with 2 levels of sliding shelves over charcoal. Of course it is a top shelf reverse flow smoker first and foremost as well. Nicer welds, nicer trim, even on low trim models. Nicer...

For those looking at Buying that next BIGGER Smoker

Yo BBQ Bros, I live in Wisconsin so understand your winter challenges when it comes to smoking temps. Especially on lighter built units. I see so many questions about this from people looking at buying that "next" smoker after finding they want more space, control over the cooking process, and...

    New Guy

YO Q Bro, I live in Wisconsin so understand your winter challenge when it comes to smoking temps. Get the Meadowcreek. Made near you and will hold the heat better than most retail store smokers. Quality build is the first point. Functional design next and will last where the sheet metal stuff...

    Not enough airflow??

I agree that there may not be enough airflow. I have a MC 120P and wish it had 2 stacks. Both open to warm up the tank then close one while cooking.

    Firebox Design Review and Critique

Do yourself a favor and put 2 stacks on it. Open both during the run up to temp to get that air moving. Then close one to cook. Wish I had added this to my custom MeadowCreek 120.

    Which Oak to burn?

I have never understood using Oak as a smoking wood. I small BBQ shop open near me last year and everything was great until the food came out. They bragged on using White Oak to smoke with like "down in Texas: the guy said. Everything was black and tasted like it was smoked with the tailpipe of...

    Heavy Hitter's

I know enough to build my own but have not the shop, tools or welding skills. Kudos to you guys that are fabricators. I have seen a lot of options I like that a tinkerer with a welder could have a lot of fun. Big tanks take a lot of heat to get going. Controlling airflow is key and a bit...

    Heavy Hitter's

Well since I spent 2 years researching every design and detail of the build quality to options available etc...... I bought a Meadowcreek Smoker.  The exhaustive research qualifies me to throw my opinion in the ring. But I have only owned Brinkmans and now the Meadowcreek. It ain't for the faint...

Sealing the firefox and smoke chamber

I use red silicone around the smoking chamber. Tape it off and use plastic wrap to keep it from sticking and cut off the excess after it dries. Touch up spray paint and you never see it. The firebox needs higher temp seals so I go to Fleet Farm and get stove gasket tape or rope the size gap you...

Got myself my first smoker, have a few questions about sealing it up tight...

Ah,however. Some models depend heavily on airflow that draws from the fire box. Otherwise many fight temperature control issues. Automated guru type devices can fan the flames but positive pressure is a requirement to best take advatage of these expensive add ons.  I do not think I need a fan...
