    A question about bacon

Not sure yet. I am thinking getting maple syrup and black pepper involved somehow. As for the process I need to figure out what fridge I am using and what will fit to cure in. I won't be getting into this until bear season in WI is over, so I have time to plan!

    A question about bacon

I am looking to make some homemade bacon in the near future. I have two pork bellies that are frozen. I know using fresh is best, but, for reasons I don't need to get into on here, they have been in the freezer since last August. They are vacuum sealed. My question is do I bother with these...

Question about a new member profile

I totally agree! If he has that much interest, one never knows where it could take him. At the very least maybe teach us a thing or two!

Who roasts their own coffee on their BBQ or Grill?

I am not sure why, but I did my first coffee roast tonight. I tried to follow Ray's instructions as close as I could. A couple things I learned as I did this. 1) I cannot use my good Royal Prestige SS pan. It will not get above 350° in a reasonable amount of time. 2) I need to...

    Winging it!

My bride went to the store to see what would "inspire" her for supper. So we ended up with chicken wings. One group with Walkerswood Jamaican Jerk and one with Great Value Buffalo Wing seasoning. The prep. The setup. 250° with Cherry chips. The goods. We had some spectacular wings...

    Weber charcoal chimney

I have been lighting mine on the side burner of my gasser, gets going quickly. It still puffs smoke, not for as long though.

    Broke the Yoder in

That looks great! I have been looking around at pellet grills and find myself always going back to the Yoders. They sure seem to be built like tanks! Lovin' the pups too, gotta chocolate and yellow here, always trying to find some snacks when we're cooking, lol

Reverse Sear SRF Wagyu TT Steaks

I completely agree with Robert on going back to camp. I find we are increasing disappointed when we head out to eat these days. There are still dang good restaurants around, but I don't live in an area that is populated enough to support one, so it's quite the drive. That is one delicious...

    Sorry no meat, but relaxing.

Very true! In my 20+ years camping I only witnessed the fire without someone around once. It was 98 in the shade with unbelievable humidity, and I worked a 12hr shift. When I got to the campground there was an enormous fire and the kids were in one camper and the adults in the other. We...

    Sorry no meat, but relaxing.

I was down to Florida in June with my family and got a taste of the heat down there. We are getting close to the cool down of fall here. This is when I like to really start camping! You can actually sit within 50 feet of the fire, lol.
