Up date on my garden...These are my potatoes,when I planted them I planted part of them whole and the other part was cut,the whole taters came up earlier and have grown better.

I had it in one of my smokes with a Q/View a few weeks ago and JLB hadn't seen it in a long time and thought they must have went out of business.I got him hooked up with 4 jars I sent him in the mail,he is now a happy camper.
Yea just a little early to get them planted.
Tomorrow I will be planting potatoes,carrots and more onions and radish's.

Been a long time since I have smoked a butterflied chicken (guess now it has a new name)
Bought a 7lb.hen and marinated it in Zesty Italian Dressing for about 6 hours and then rubbed it with a combo of Billbos world famous dry rub and Cains Bbq Spice and added some poultry seasoning to boot...
I have a 7lb. chicken I am going to butterfly and smoke tomorrow.Getting tired of my usual rub I was wondering if any body would care to share there special chicken rub?
Hey Smoke,I cooked this way for many many years and never had a complaint about how the food tasted the "Old School Way" ...Like you I have to revert back to a simple smoke now and then.
I always skin mine and leave plenty of fat on them.I butterfly mine out and use to have a smoker made out of cement blocks.They always turn out great.I have since moved and going to try a whole hog on my large side box smoker in June can't wait.

I made one years ago out of 36 cynder blocks and a tin roof to roast a whole hog in and it worked perfect.
4 blocks long
2 blocks wide
3 blocks tall
Grate between 2nd and 3rd block and a sheet of tin roofing for the top.
Built a fire on the outside and shovel hot coals in each end as needed...
Tenderized and flattend some Chicken Breast and spiced up the insides and filled with sauted green pepper and onions then topped with Cheddar/Jack Cheese.
Wrapped with some of my BB Bacon and dusted with some BBQ Spice and to the cooker.Not sure they Qualify as a Fattie there is no ground...
