Another here that would love to see pictures. This has been something I have thought about doing before, just looks like a blast and I enjoy doing and making everything myself if I can.
Yeah they look great. What was off about the texture to you?
I don't know what you were going for in the smokyness, alot of people prefer more, some prefer less, but your smoke in that picture looks a little white in color and rolling. You want to go for a thin blue smoke, as prolonged...
I had a similar experience with a GE from wally world, it didn't get hot at all, and when you tried to force it to it burned out. Thank god wal mart takes anything back right!
The one girl even said "man this thing even smells like smoke", she didn't know enough to know it smelled like good...
Yum.....planning a spread like this for a "day before the superbowl" party we are throwing, hadn't thought of the bacon wrapped jalapenos, have had them grilled but not smoked...and smoke makes everything better right?
Thanks for the inspiration.
Awesome tutorial. Thank you very much.
Now has anyone found a high capacity rheostat or anything like that to be able to control the heat? I run 2 hot plates, one constant on, and the other I need to be able to vary its output to make things work perfectly for me.
I think IE8 was your problem, especially if you had adobe flash plugins, there are holes in them. Thats why you use chrome ofr firefox if at all possible.
Just an FYI...I work at a computer repair shop at our isp.....and we recommend microsoft security essetnials and avira anti vir as our top...
I am running at 225-250, I tested my thermometer, and ran it parallel with my digital which was also tested, both are spot on 32 in ice water and spot on 210 in boiling, so my temps are correct. Thats my burner on low or just a bit above low to hold those temps, and I have adjusted my flame to...
Looks awesome.
Ok so noob question, burnt ends is the ends of the brisket cut off and sauced and put back in the smoker? I never knew you sauced them before you put them back in, or is that just your special way of doing things? They look awesome.
bought the display model for 20% off, it was the only one they had. I can control the temps pretty well right now, but may look into doing the needle valve mod come summer. You seem to lose some heat and smoke from the drawers, and I am going to be looking into a better way to seal them up...
Hey guys.
Relatively new here. Have been using my huge home built electric for smoking cured sausages, and its been great, but it tops out at about 200 and I want to get into doing butts and brisket as well as having a smaller smoker for just smoking things for the wife and me or a few...
Nope haven't seen a better deal than that. I got lucky, came across the LEM version of this one with metal gears for $95 last year in a cabelas bargain cave.....no idea why it was there, but I didn't asked I grabbed one and ran. Best investment I have ever made.......I let my sausage set up...
Good advice above.
As far as your trip, my all time favrite bbq place I have ever been to (and thats not a whole lot) is the original Arthur Bryants in downtown KC. Its not an extremely nice place, but the food is good, and the atmosphere is there. Make sure you speak up when you order, they...
www.midwesternresearch.com is where I get all my stuff. I love their mixes, and if I am in the mood to try my own they carry all the bulk stuff as well. They also carry equipment, high temp cheeses, casings, just about everything and always ship same day if you order by 4:30 central. Plus...I...
