I had Smoked Buffaloe from Country Smoke House at our Churches Wild Game Dinner. The smoked Bufaloe was very good, great flavor. No other smoked meats besides their great sausages that were on the table.
Here is a pic of the plates
Python Pasty, Buffaloe Roast, and Venison Meatloaf. All...
Hi Tommy
Humdinger is right, Lowes and Home Depot have wood chunks and chips for smoking meats. I was in Home Depot last week and they had plenty in stock (In Utica on Hall just east Van Dyke Freeway). Fruitwood from the local orchards is a great idea. I have not had time to run up to Romeo...
I always do at least one rack of ribs and one whole chicken (Beer Can Style). Both are great as leftovers. We use take the leftover chicken and make into pulled chicken for leftovers, it usually does not last long. Ribs are also great with a quick reheat on the grill. If you only want 1/2 rack...
Different smokers come with different instructions with the same goal. Run your smoker at a high temp to burn off any oils, paint, and residue from manufacturing and you have to season your smoker with Veg oil. Some combine these two steps some don't. You do want to keep your smoker seasoned...

I apologize for my geographic error. Country Smokehouse is just north and stop when u see the big cow :). They are catering our Wild Game dinner at the end of the month, I am excited it is always great food. I invite all my fellow michiganders to our Wild Game...
For my ribs I did not do 2-2-1 but I wish I did I think they would have turend out more tender. Wood chucks I put 3-4 ever 2 hours, I found wrapping the chunks or chips in foil and making a pouch works well to prevent flare ups. I have not tried using a small iron skillet as others have...
I know we all like to smoke our own but one of my pursuits is finding great Barbeucue. My family developed the a taste for Que when we lived in TX. Ever since moving to Michigan we are always on the hunt for good Que Dining.
Here are our Favs.

I got a Master Built Dual Fuel smoker, it is in your price range ( $179) but not big enought do a full slab of ribs. I really like my master built and if I really wanted to go bigger I would really consider the XL model. I would prefer a model with two doors though, I see hardly any change in...
I got two Taylor Thems at Lowes for $20/ea (not wirless though which is fine for me) I always hange one probe in the cente or my smoker. The other in the meat I am cooking. I also have a Maverick for a second meat if needed. This works great for me, I can monitor smoker temp and meat temp and...
I just got a MB pro Dual Fuel popane smoker and I was REALLY surprised how long one tank last. Becuase you cook at such low temps (I like mine @ 225). The fuel last for quite a long time. I always have two tanks, the one that is being reserved and one on deck. I have also been smoking over the...
