Last winters otter and beaver trappings from my farm lakes/ponds just came back from the tanner
Goal = enough for a nice blanket.
Otters ranged in weight from 22 to 29 pounds...state record is 32 pounds here in Missouri.
Beaver (destructive critters!) are much harder to trap - they are very wary...
A guy I work with was helping a friend do a European mount. When they were getting ready to skin the head, my friend noticed what he thought was a pus sack - infection of some sort. It wasn't!
It was a third eye - complete with socket. He said the mount looks like an alien with antlers!
I once sold two shotguns to Bass Pro Shops. They were very fair with me.
Both shotguns (they were in very good condition) fetched 90 cents on the dollar of brand new price.
Shotguns are not a semi-auto handgun...but it's probably worth looking into - phone call at least.
Yesterday's hunt was to get big ole nanny does...you know...the ones that have twins. Trying to reduce the mouths we feed. Probably wasted effort, but if we don't do it, then there would be no effort at all.
No luck - a few tiny does and a lot of next-year-bucks.
Yesterday was the single...

Our house is ALWAYS the destination for the holidays and I think Thanksgiving is my most fave holiday just for the number of people I get to see.
This Thanksgiving will be small - only 7 of us. Back in he day, it used to be 20-25. All the nieces and nephews are now married with families of...
@radioguy - Your recipe is pretty close to what we make now...I was thinking of adding some chopped/shredded (neck) meat from the giblets but the sage sausage idea from above sounds even better.
