    Stator Bros has tri-tip on sale until 10-27-09 for $1.97 a lb. Scored 6 today, and will most likely go back tomorrow for another 6. I've never seen them at this price before.

    You might want to reconsider the 1" height and at least double it depending on what brand of charcoal you're using. If you're using blue bag Kingsford, the ash will be incredible, more than likely choking out your fire with only 1" of space. Just a thought.
