    Fire Bricks

    I used plain ole red bricks wrapped in foil as well for years. No issues with them. They are perfectly safe in the smoking area, but not in the fire box. I had 6 in my offset smoker and they did help maintain temps.

    It looks like an old Brinkman Pitmaster. I remember the fire boxes being on the right though and never seen one with the counter weights like that on a factory Brinkman. It’s possible someone added them. Looks like a nice solid smoker though. Should turn out some great meat.

    What are you smoking today?

    Ribs were amazing! On the smoker for 3 hours, 2 hours wrapped, then back on unwrapped another hour. Had two homemade sauces, baked potato, and peach/blueberry pie for dessert. Girlfriend and I ate till we about popped.
