    Digital Q-View ?

Ok, so I've been tinkering around a little more and decided to go "pro". I designed some PCB's and placed an order for them. I should get the boards in a couple of weeks. My concept is as follows: Take 1 Raspberry Pi, attach the SmokerPi adapter. Drop on from 1 to 4 SmokerPiMB (Mother Boards)...

    Digital Q-View ?

I've been doing it "old school" for the last 15 years or so. Now however, I don't have to open the lid to check the temperature anymore. Now if I could just get my hands on a flux capacitor, I'd be all set ! Smoke on ... Argo.

    Digital Q-View ?

Hi Ryan, no I had not heard of the HeaterMeter, heading over there for a looksie now. Sounds quite similar at first glance, my gadget is built around a Raspberry Pi also. Printed circuit boards, yea, I'm actually thinking of designing some and offering them as a "group buy" on the site here. I...

Smoked brisket plateau. Data log to show it !

Hi Gary, yup I read those very informative posts of yours prior to my brisket attempt. Thanks for sharing. Chad, I'd be more than happy to 'talk shop' with a fellow smoker, especially since we're practically neighbors.

Smoked brisket plateau. Data log to show it !

Howdy neighbor, The data logger is a little project I threw together using thermocouples and a raspberry pi ($35 Linux computer). The software is actually for home energy monitoring http://openenergymonitor.org/emon/ I use this setup to monitor my house energy consumption and decided to use it...

Smoked brisket plateau. Data log to show it !

Hi there. I smoked my first brisket the other day after reading as much as I could from all you experienced smokers out there. The brisket turned out excellent and cooked somewhat faster than anticipated. I was prepared for a 15 to 20 hour smoke after reading guidelines of 1-1.5 hrs per pound...
