    Welcome to SMF Jeff! I agree that ABT's are a real crowd pleaser. They are easy to make and forgiving to smoke. Pulled pork is good also very forgiving if needed, just allow plenty of time to get up to temp!!

    First Post - First Smoker - Question?

    Hey torchrider, and welcome to a fellow Texan!! I have sfb and it has a lid on top of the box as well as on the end. It is convienent for grilling directly over the fire but that is about it. As said previously you probably lose some heat thru it. Get that thing mounted and smokin!!

    Shoulder Stall ~

    My first butts I did on my Cajun injector electric (mes) took almost 19 hours to get to 200 at 230!! Long stall... but they came out great. Gotta have the patience! Never had one take near that long on my stick burner (slightly higher temps i guess)

    Garlic Lovers Pulled Pork

    I have the cinnamon sugar...it is great. I am lucky enough to be able to but this stuff in my local supermarket (HEB). I don't even use regular hot sauce since I tasted the spicy garlic sauce.... Just good stuff!
