If you have the MES 30 then it goes on the wire rails just to the left of the original chip pan. If you have the MES 40 then it will fit on the floor to the left hand side, you will not loose rack space with either method.

I use the same method as far as changing the temps. Last two batches of sticks took 11-12 hours, not sure why but it is frustrating for a small stick to take that long.
Take the controller off and take it inside and warm it up, worth a try. Some have had luck putting a pan of boiling water inside which warms it up enough to work. I believe you are right when the connections on the element go bad the display still works.
Teebob, looks good again. I moved back home to S Dakota and they just opened a Costco here so I picked up a couple, guess I have will have to follow you again. Scooper I like the ham idea, going back to get one or two for the freezer

Just went back and looked at your link, go to the last link in the product Q&A link and it gives some info on who makes them, not real clear but does not look like Masterbuilt has been the provider for awhile.

Check this link, the Cajun Injector has the flip up controls like the one you are looking at. Not sure who makes these but my brother in law has a Cajun Injector that is about the size of my MES 30 and has never had a problem.
