"The beans are epic."
Reminds me of a church bulletin my ex-father-in-law wrote. He was the minister of a small town church and he once wrote "There will be a men's bean dinner followed by special music." Not sure if he did that on purpose, probably not.
Your bbq sauce sounds great.
So I did beef back ribs on Saturday. Since my previous smokes have taken longer than I expected, I started these at 9am at 250 degrees. Went out for a bit, came home at noon, probed them and they were at 172. So I wrapped them, put them back on the smoker for two hours or so and they were...
I saw a video with Pittman, from Meat Church, and some other BBQ guy do a side-by-side. They said to use foil if you want it done sooner, paper if you have time. IIRC the bark was about the same. This was done with a brisket, but I'm sure it carries over to pork.
I discovered Dukes because of their college football bowl game sponsorship. Bought their low fat version last time, they were out of the original. Not bad, not bad.
Man, don't let Uncle Roger hear you say "electric" and "wok" in the same sentence.
I go by Amazon reviews a LOT. Maybe too much, but haven't been burned yet, since their return policy is liberal. Check to see if America's Test Kitchen has done a review. They are pretty thorough in their...
I've practiced "safe rice" for a few years now. I cook/eat a lot of rice. I'll let left overs cool on the counter for no more than a half hour, then into the fridge. Never had a problem, before or after this procedure. If I have left overs from a meal out, and am not going home right after...
By "wet stuff" you mean raw meats correct ? When it "starts to flow towards" is all the air sucked out by then? I have never used one so please excuse any obvious questions.
Thanks for all the replies guys. The Nesco was the winner of the comparison test at ATK. I watched a few YouTubes last night and one said the the drip tray in the Nesco does not come out for easy cleaning. Is this so ? Not a deal breaker though.
Hello. I'd like to start sealing leftovers and bulk meat purchases. I've looked at threads here about sealers but I don't want to pay hundreds of dollars for one. The "best" I saw on Amazon was the Food Saver brand, priced from 69.00 - 144.00. Any suggestions will be appreciated. TIA
Right, those exact gloves, along with millions of other Amazon products, can be made by / distributed by many different companies. If you don't click on the exact ones you bought, it won't show as you purchased them.
Yeah, they are a bit "clunky". I got them for primarily handling food. They work great for that. And I like how I can wear them while washing. Just like washing your hands. Easy clean up. But I see your point about being able to grab smaller things like skewers. I really wanted the Hey...
Baking is something I never got into. I'll make Jiffy cornbread but that's it. The measurements have to be too precise. I ain't got time for that. Looks like a nice mixer.
Looks great. I , too, make gumbo a few times during season. My ingredients are pretty much the same, just different technique. I'm going to post my recipe soon.
