Masterbuilt Pro Dual Fuel Smoker - First Smokes with Q-View

Looking good! I have the same smoker and with a couple of mods (smoke tray swapped for a cast iron skillet and water pan filled with pea gravel) it has worked well so far. My door seals up nicely so I don't think it needs a gasket. I need to put in a needle valve for lower temps and I think...

First pork smoke - a little dry. What'd I do wrong?

Eric - wow, thanks for the incredibly informative post. I am seriously overwhelmed with the amount of information and knowledge all in one place. The loin was indeed trimmed rather lean, in fact the wife commented on how she wished there was more of a fat cap on it. I have been reading other...

First pork smoke - a little dry. What'd I do wrong?

    BBQ Bill's Citrus Smoked Chicken

That chicken looks delicious! One question - where did you get the pan that looks like a roasting pan with holes in it? I went out today and looked all over for one like it and came up empty handed. People had no idea what I wanted when I asked for a "roasting pan with holes in it".

    My mods to smoke pan

How did this work out? I'm thinking of going a similar route. Where did you find the BBQ grate? I haven't seen anything like that, it looks perfect.

Chip burn control in a Masterbuilt 2 door gas.

I had the same problem with the same smoker, and for a quick and cheap solution I followed the instructions in this post: http://www.smokingmeatforums.com/t/113601/initial-setup-and-using-the-masterbuilt-vertical-propane-smoker It worked out quite well, but I am still in the process of looking...

    Greetings fron North Texas

Hello all! I've been lurking here for some time and soaking up the extensive knowledge, and I figured that the time has come for me to create an account and join up. I've been grilling for about 30 years now and have my technique down, but my forays into smoking have been hit and miss. My last...
