The bottom of the firebox is the only part not insulated, and is solid. We are building an internal ash pan so we dont have to worry about air leaks. We have a good six inches under the charcoal grate for ashes.
Got the trailer to the 98% point today. Still have some support brackets to install for the diamond plate skirt, and some suspension work to do to support this monstor. Got to get this thing done this week, because I need to do two smokes on it next weekend. Going to be fun! I did find that one...
I checked 4 out of the 8 that I bought, and they were within a degree of boiling water. I will have my digital ports set up here soon, so I will have a digital reference as well,

Got a few of the kinks worked out today. The "warming box" was running way too hot when the main chamber temps were nominal, and this was with the active airflow turned off, so we put in some insulation and another plate between the firebox and the warming box. We also installed a fresh air...
