My wife was very successful on weight watchers using the old points system. Pretty much, we just started figuring about 1 point per ounce for meats, it didn't seem to matter if it was beef, pork or chicken, 1pt/oz was pretty close. I know they changed their system over the last few years...
Thanks, so far I'm just tickled with it.
That's a deceiving angle (kinda like a myspace angle), it's long and skinny, like 8' X 50', but it is a great place to hang out and sip beverages.
I ordered a Weber Smokey Mountain smoker last week. It arrived today. I knew it was coming, so I was anxious to get off work all day...then I remembered, dentist appointment.
That got me home about 1 1/2 hours later than I had anticipated....but I would not be deterred. It was a snap to...
When I was a complete smoking virgin, I called the father of my Bro-in-law who I knew smoked meat all the time. I told him I had just inherited a smoker and was getting ready to cook a chicken and a brisket. He said, "hang on, I'll be right over." When he got there, I already had a beer in...
I like some spice...but too much is simply too much.
One of Amy's clients gave her a pack of Ghost Chili's (Bhut Jolokia's), she tossed them in the fridge and forgot about them. I dug them out of the back of the fridge, they had gone bad, so I tossed them in the garbage disposal. Even running...
You can smoke a cherry pie. They are fairly easy and really tasty.
Make the filling like you normally would (frozen cherries, sugar, almond extract) then spread the mix on a cooking sheet. Smoke for about 1/2 hour to an hour, then put in a crust and finish it off in the oven.
One thing that's always bothered my about my S'nP is the time it takes for heating up, especially when it's cold and windy. Due to where I have my unit placed, there is always a good chance of wind...wind blowing from the wrong direction. I put the smoker where I did for ease of use and...
Well...maybe I jumped the gun a bit saying it was the last smoke on the S'nP. All week they had been calling for rain today, but as weathermen often are, they were wrong. So, we whipped up a meatloaf to toss on the smoker.
Never done a meatloaf before. I've done lots of burgers and meatballs...
Yeah, there were actually 8 ABT's. I was really just cooking for myself, so I didn't see any need to over do it. :-)
It was delicious Al, I can't believe I waited so long to do a chuck roast.
thank you and thank you. :-)

the hore-de-hervies. :p
Just pulled the chuckie off a bit ago...it's resting in the cooler waiting to be pulled. :)
Yeah, not too shabby. I'm smoking a meat loaf tomorrow, so it's not its final voyage. I'm sure it will have its place in my arsenal. I worked hard getting it 'leveled' out, so I won't totally abandon all my hard work. :-D
The fatty was just a basic meat and cheese jobby. The ABT's were a...
I wasn't sure where this should go...but considering the chuckie is my first one, it's the star of the show...so...beef it it. :-)
Had a beautiful day here in KC. After spring cleaning of the yard, I thought I'd smoke some food as a little send off to my trustworthy Smoke'N Pit. My WSM should...
I'm just gonna go out on a limb (since I've never used a unit like that) and say, a handful of hot coals in the bottom of the vertical part of the smoker should work like a champ. Maybe a little grill basket/wok thingy to put them in. I'd start off with just a few and add more if needed.
Pure...
