I agree with Richtee, get the BB... they are very good and very forgiving for your first smoke.

I'd remove the netting and see what you got... if it looks like it's gonna fall apart on you, then use a skewer or twp to hold it together like ZAPPER said. I agree, the net will probably screw up the bark.

GoFish, yeah, the cheapest I can find a brisket around here is $3.99/lb... and that's just the flat. I can't find a whole packer anywhere...
