    Blakes Burger Recipe

HAHAHAHA Scrapple is a east coast thing. PLEASE don't ask what's in it. It's kinda like a by product of all the left overs. they get pressed together into a square shape, and you slice it and fry it up for breakfast. It's not really a bad tasteing thing. Just don't look at the ingredince(?)

    Look what I'm doing today!!!

I really never save my spay, it's cheap enough to replace rather then to take a chance. As far as forgetting how to use your smoker, from the looks of that "thin blue smoke" you still got it.

Question before my 1st try at this

Dude... I really don't think they're the same. The picnic has another chunk of meat on it. The butt only has 1 bone, the picnic has 2 bones. It has the same flat bone plus a big ole round one also.I think the butt is a better cut of meat too. I know it cost more and to me it seems to be more moist.

Question before my 1st try at this

Yepper into the fatty it'll go, as for the brisket, corned beef brisket is already cooked.Yes you want to look for what is called a "Packer Brisket" It has both the point and the flat. The usualy are BIG!! I'm in Phila. and finding a Packer Brisket is hard to find.If you can only find the flat...

Will the Maverick ET-83 work in a smoker?

Don't trust the thermometer that comes with your smoker. First they're usualy off, secondly you want to know what the temp. is where the meat is, not what the temp. of the door is. Most people don't trust the factory thermometer, and have a few probe thermometers. And one of them is for the...

    New Guy

Hello Mike, you sure came to the right place to learn about smoking meat. The probe thermometer is a MUST. As they said "it's all about tempetures, not time." No 2 meats cook the same, so you really need at least one. I have around 4. 3 wireless, and 1 or 2 hand held one. Never enough. Once...

    Temps of Propane Smokers?

With my GOSM I have had mine as low as 140, it may go lower, I'm not sure how high it will go I've had it up around 360, and that was on a little higher the medium the dial. Of course that was also in the summer.

    Rotating meat in the smoker??

I really don't rotate mine, I have a GOSM too.I just keep my eye on the thermometer, when it'sdone, it's done. I mean like it isn't like they'll all get done at the same time. 12 hrs. for 1, 5 hrs for something else, 3 hrs for ABT'S, etc. So personally I don't see any reason to rotate. Just my 2...
