I agree with the other folks that said get a vacuum sealer system. They're inexpensive and keep food good a lot longer than freezer wrap or freezer bags.
Howdy John, Welcome back and I hope everything is well for you. There is another thread here that has excellent pics of a reverse flow propane tank build another member is building. I don't know how to get the link for a thread to post here but here is the info for it, "Reverse Flow Build " by...

I bought a load of hickory a couple of weeks ago. I think it's greener than I thought it was. I seasoned my pit with it and now the inside is glossy instead of smudgy looking. Did I load it up with creosote ? The smoke smell is still very strong and there's no fire. If it is creosote, should I...
Welcome aboard. We like pictures here especially "Qview". I'm hoping you share some of your sausage making experience with us. Maybe post some pics of your smokehouse when you get it done. Peace , Wanbli

I've had this open pit for a couple of years. I cook over it using a tripod and grill. It's basically the same kind of pit available in our state park campgrounds, except theirs are burried almost completly. It's 2 pieces of culvert one is 24" X 18" the other is 18" X 12". The other big...
Howdy, I'm not fond of any ribs in solution from the store. I don't care for the Danish ribs I see offered at Krogers either. It seems to me they have an "off" taste. I was stationed in Scotland in the late 70s and learned that they feed "fish meal" (ground up bones and "stuff") to pigs and...
Greetings,
I have a retired gent that lives about 7 or 8 miles from me. He sells spilt hardwood for $50 a face cord. He had some unsplit Hickory and thought it might be about 1/2 to 3/4 a face cord, said I could stop by in a few days and he'd have it split for me for $40. I agreed and when I...
