I simply sprayed the grates with a little Pam, and rubbed the interior chassis with some canola oil. I suggest not putting anything on the fire, the Horizon guys don't recommend it and it's one less potential mess to deal with.

Don't forget to remove the membrane from the back of the ribs, if it hasn't been done already. Removing the membrane aids smoke penetration and it's a better texture.
Oh I love Tommy Burger! I'll have to try this out. For those that don't know, it's not a thick and hearty chili, it's a little closer to a coney island style (hence the food processor I suppose), great for fries. Thanks for sharing.
This weekend I'm thinking of doing some chicken pieces (thighs, drumsticks, etc) and also some turkey legs. Any reason why I can't or should not combine them into a single brine?
