    Storing Pulled Pork

I just mix it all up and just use the good ole Food Saver. I make dlfferanent size bags. Some big some small. If I'm going to reheat just a little for one or 2 people just grab a little bag and pop it in the micro wave. For a lot of people, a big bag and into the crock pot it goes. I put the...

    St louis V/S Baby Backs

I think the spares have a little more meat, but IMHO I think the B.B. cook up faster and have to be watched more careful, or they'll be falling off the bone, litterly(?). As far as tatse I really can't tell the differance. It's what evers on sale for me. I've already did both at the same time.

    Smoker problem

Can you really do that? Won't it correct itself later in the smoke, or will it continue to just let a little propane in? That just sounds to easy to lower you tempeture LOL. I can get mine to run fine at 175 but for jerky I'd like to go a little lower. If this really works that would be great...

    Picnik Butt

I usualy do the picnic for pulled pork. I did notice that the butt is a little more juicey. But the cost for a picnic is a lot cheaper, and as long as you use the finishing sauce you really can't go wrong with the picnic. I smoke them both the same way. Don't forget about the damn plateau(?) it...

    First smoke since joining SMF...

Good luck on your smoke, as far as cleaning The ABT'S... I use a plasice apple corer(?). I rounded off the point on the tip, that way it won't poke through the bottom. I just slowly turn it as I push it down in the pepper. Takes out the seeds and membrane pretty good.

    Canned Pinto Beans

Patty, if I was to try the pressure cooker method you were talking about before would the beans be all mushy like the supermarket type or would they be still as tastey as home made?

First smoke next weekend, couple questions on butts

I've never heard of hickory being over powering. I use it every time. Now mesquite is another story, you have to watch out on that one. When I lived in TX. that's all they use, I guess you aguire a tatse for it. But it will over power the meat. I don'tthink you can mess up a butt, as long as you...

    Which would you prefer??

Boy don't I feel like a dope, but I really learn more watching, then reading. I can read how to do something over and over, but I won't really understand it untill I see it, or do it. (DUH!!! now I understand) I've tried reading books but I just can't sit still long enough. Heck I just spent...
