    Rec Tec RT 700 warranty?

I would not say I am worried. One always hears of the vaunted 6 year warranty and thought I would glance at it since I have spent countless hours researching other aspects of the Yoder and Rec Tec, and as a side note that is an aspect of my personality that I wish I could easily dispense with...

    Rec Tec RT 700 warranty?

Seems the answer is yes, 6 year warranty is reality. My eyes saw 2 yrs and 6 yrs. Rather than me sifting through boring legalese I thought I would mine the collective wisdom of the forum for clarification. Thank you sir.

    Rec Tec RT 700 warranty?

Looking at the product manual online I notice in first paragraph that it mentions 2 year limited warranty for 700.....further down it mentions 6 year warranty. Legal trickery? Tell me Rec Tec owners that this is bumper to bumper for six years.

    Rec Tec RT700 question

All of you have been very helpful and I have enjoyed the lively discourse. I want to ask again if new eyes come across this thread about downdrafts if anyone has used them and the positives or negatives associated with its use?

    Rec Tec RT700 question

I am guessing you have the comp cart then? Like it better than the standard cart with a wheel mod where you might retain the storage space underneath? I think the Yoder comp cart sets the Yoder off as looks go....not sure about the RT though. Will have to see some images, but $400 for some...

    Rec Tec RT700 question

I don't know what the temperature might be in the box if you were running the pit at 225-250, but cheese, nuts and fish...prolly not. Sliced beef bologna and brats or what not then yes or as a warmer maybe.

    Rec Tec RT700 question

Is it not funny how life works? The wife knows I am about to pull the trigger on a cooker purchase and just a few minutes ago reminds me that the new flooring she has wanted for awhile needs to be a reality. :emoji_astonished: She knows I cant in good conscience stonewall on this issue any...

    Rec Tec RT700 question

I think that this alleviates some of my anxiety over the rec tec. Just a matter now of being practical and saving coin on a cooker that should "I think" should perform as well as the sexier and more expensive Yoder or saying to heck with it and "ya only live once old boy" and buy the Yoder eye...

    Rec Tec RT700 question

Yes, I noticed that myself, but reasoned with price difference I might be able to live with it being I am keeping my large WSM for certain applications.

    Butcher paper question

No not everyone has read Mr. Franklin's manifesto true.. but those that have fell in the love with the idea and it became more prevalent, me being one of them. Fact. It just was not the be all end all for me. My point is one size does not fit all. But you are no doubt right and I am...

    Rec Tec RT700 question

I am just worried I guess about how common a issue this is with either unit, how disappointed I might be with either unit if first rattle out of the box at smoking temps and the diffuser warps. I would expect to have to deal with this if buying the el cheapo big box store pellet smoker but not...

    Butcher paper question

Dunno...guess we can agree to disagree. I have a nice big roll that does not get used anymore. My experience is there is not much gained from its use other than being a bit more messy. Granted I am not able to source much more than select grade brisky, the odd choice grade mixed in the pile in...

    Rec Tec RT700 question

I was talking about Rec Tec...apoligies. I stumbled on a thread on a different site referencing this problem by more than a few. Since reading your post Slowmo I did google Yoder warped diffuser and see this is also an issue for some Yoder owners as well. I suppose that nothing is perfect but at...

Unless you are cooking high quality briskets like Mr. Franklin you might be best served to use foil.

    Rec Tec RT700 question

I am in the proccess of trying to decide between Rec Tec 700 and Yoder YS640 and today I run into a thread on this forum or another that indicates that the heat diffuser is prone to warping on newer models. Can anyone speak to this?

    Timberline 850 model comparison

I don't own one or any pellet smoker yet..but have been reading reviews and combing the forums extensively for a month now and there is a solid majority that holds the Traeger Timberline series in low regard for the coin that is required to purchase it. It would seem at that price point there...

    pit boss pellet grill 1000

Was thinking about going this route but not to sure now. Seems to be some issues with grates cracking and customer service does not sound like Rec Tec. Check out reviews at Lowe's. Many seem happy but I could be wrong but are they not a fairly recent release?

    Charcoal S baskets?

Although I am still interested in an opinion on this matter I have committed my mind anyway if not yet my wallet on a good pellet smoker.
