I have 6 Mr beer kegs great for small batches. Get a 5 gallon kit and use half. Good way to get alot of different brews in the fridge fast! I don't care for MR Beer mixes but the kegs are a nice size. two will fit in a rubbermaid box, line it with brown paper and it will fit almost anywhere...
I got mine from Grizzly a year ago but it was nylon gears. I have a few friends that bought the newer plastic (which BTW LEM now uses) with no problems. For an extra $30 you can order metal.

Lens 5 and 15 lb stuffer both have plastci gears - they are vertually identical to Grizzlys and right now they are on backorder at Lem. You can however purchase metal gears for and additional $29.95.
Got a noreaster comming in tomorrow night. WIndy as all blazes today! Even blew the lid off my ECB and it was under my wind break shelter! Big ole flakes early this morning but I think that was just a sign of what's to come tomorrow.

I've had butts that hit in a few hours and butts that seemed to takes days. They have their own timeline and if they hit the plateau they could stay there for 2, 3, 4 even 5 hours depending on size. When I do butts I plan them for tomorrows supper not todays. Smoking in as much as posible should...
You have two options:
1 soak it in plain water for a few hours to help remove some of the salt and then brine with about 1/2 the normal salt.
2 Don't brine and just inject with butter and your favorite spices.

Have you looked through the Sauces in my eBook? Some are pretty good. You might want to add some heat (I do) but they are pretty easy to adapt.
