    I've got one of them new Perfect Flame gas smokers from Lowes. I've volunteered myself to smoke a turkey for turkey day this year. Has anyone smoked a turkey in one of these smokers yet? How big of a turkey can I smoke. I may be serving up to 12 people.

    A friend told me to put half OJ half water in the water dish to prevent drying. I'm gonna give it a try definitely. I plan on hanging out with the ham while smoking it. Me, my ham, and a few to many bottles of budweiser. So i'll be basting it very regularly.

    Ends up this is what my wife wants this weekend. I wanted a pork tenderloin but in the end I just want to smoke something. So a ham it is. The directions say to heat it in the oven at 325 for 20mins a pound. So smoker would it be 30 mins a pound at 225? Should I smoke it in a tray or just...

    I'll likely just todd it in a foil lined deep dish baking pan and cover it with foil. I'm generally pretty good with timing.

    You can get a London Broil up to 2" thick I believe. Which is what I would need to feed 8 people. The marinade I have I use for grilling so I'll assume I can use it for smoking. Could I wrap it in foil and just toss it in the oven with no heat?

    I'm gonna smoke a london broil this weekend. I've got a great marinade recipe so thats no problem. Once question...What temp? I want to try to cook it medium to satisfy all parties. The marinade I sue tenderizes so well I can cook it well and it'll still be excellent.

    I guess soaking is out. I did notice that when I did soak it took much longer for the wood to actually start smoking. That annoyed me.
