I built my offset about a year ago now and i use one of the online calculators for the build and every thing turned out good all but the exhaust. The calculator said I needed 80" of 2.5 pipe so I made 4 pipes 20" and it gave me way to much draft pulls ash in to the cc and uses way to much wood...
Looks good I know on my drum smoker built or the uds witch ever you want to call it. I added a 8" tall 2" pipe for an exhaust. To get the temps up in cold weather smoking.
I've built a few uds and I used plain steel or black iron steel the smoke keeps it from rusting and it's less$$ then SS and dose not have any coatings that can burn off or gas off like galvanised steel has. As for the intake it depends on your elevation. I cook in the mountains of VA and WV and...
