Rest in peace Ron. My condolences to Carol and Ron's family members. I only had a chance to chat with him a few times, but his knowledge helped me turn out some of the best food I ever smoked. RIP Ron
Here is the recipe I am thinking of trying
Steven Raichlen’s Sake Chicken
· 1 whole chicken
· 1 can (12 ounces) beer
Rub:
· 2 teaspoons sesame seeds
· 2 teaspoons wasabi powder
· 2 teaspoons coarse salt
· 1 teaspoon coarse black...

I did some ribs yesterday with a mixture of Johnny Walker Blue and Apple Cider, I must say they turned out amazing! I was nervous about the using the Scotch but it was well worth the chance of failure.

I am still waiting...... getting a little impatient! It was in a stall for almost 2 1/2 hours but has slowly started to creep up again. Its been on since 12 and is just now hitting 170. I will take a picture when its pulled off. The ribs and chicken that were on did not last long enough for a...
Dang I knew I should have bought some of the big foil pans at the store earlier! I really dont wanna go back to the store again. Anyone in Houston want to bring me one?
They say the Brinkman electric smoker can hold up to 50lbs of meat,, well I had about 35 on it and kapow, the damn thing broke. I guess I need to get a bigger smoker now! HAHHA oh well atleast I have a good reason for a new smoker now to tell the wife.
Guess I should probably put the chicken quarters on. I hope the grill holds the 10lb shoulder, rack of ribs and 5 legs quarters. Will have pictures later!
I made a few tweaks to it for our taste as well cause we like spicy so I added some cholula and cayenne pepper to it so I hope it turns out good. I will let you all know how the regular sugar works out. I will take a picture of it and the ribs that are on right now
well i am gonna try it so i will let you all know how it turns out. I went out for the cider vinegar and got carried away and forgot the brown sugar! DOH!
