One of the first things I learned here was not to soak the chips. I've been putting them in a foil covered coffee can with a hole in the foil and it's been working very well.
How long can one use the same can?? When I took it out of the smoker after I used it last, it stunk. (Stank?) Anyway...
Not smoked, but one of our dogs liked worm jerky. After a rain earthworms would crawl up on our patio and for some reason couldn't find their way back to dirt. He wouldn't touch them until they had sufficiently dried out then he'd have a feast.
Now, does this look like a dog that would eat worms?
Cool thread! Daughter gave us about five pounds of roasted beans for Christmas and now we're spoiled, Folgers just ain't the same anymore!
I've been checking for roasted beans on ebay and kept coming across auctions for green beans & roasters but never really considered getting into the roasting...
Next time I do them I'll completely wrap the pepper instead of just draping it over the top.
After they were done I discovered I had just the thing to suspend them from: the racks I bought to make Buffalo Wings. They should hold 8-10 each.
For as long as I can remember it's been a family tradition to serve black-eyed peas on New Years day. Supposed to bring good luck in the new year or something like that.
Anyone else?
A few years ago I went to a rod-run (outdoor car show) with my brother-in-law.
At the dinner and dance they served up what I guess you'd call pulled pork but it was served inside the pig carcass.
The whole hog was on the table, split down the back and filled with the meat.
Some people were...
Next time I make them I'll hang them up on racks. I was reading one of the other threads about homemade racks and realized (too late) that I had something that will work: The wire racks meant for making Buffalo wings. Checked it out after I brought that batch in, they'd hang just right on them.
