    I wasn't smoking meat...

Yea, I'm reminded of the line from Jaws when they first see Jaws .... "Gonna need a bigger boat"

    Red-eyed Weekend

I find that only putting a very minimum of water in the ECB water pan helps. Like, keep it at most with 2 to 4 cups of water, and just keep adding every few hours.

I just got a huge smoker , I cant afford to fill it up

Why not mod it to run charcoal? That way, save the electrical work/costs, and be ready to go. Maybe a stick burner?? Or, even gas may be easier than wood, I don't know. Course, don't ask me how to do either, I'm just sayin..... EDIT: Heh, it helps to refresh before posting if you walk away...

I am getting a 500 gal Propane tank for free - What can I do with it?

    Blow yourself up if you're not very careful. We want pics. . . . . . . . . . . . Of the smoker, not the explosion.

    Mesquite!?!?!?!?!

I was at my sisters the other night and she had a bottle of Mcormick grill mates Mesquite seasoning. I tasted it. Kinda tangy, but had a decent flavor. Almost as good as liquid smoke right!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Cube Steak Jerky? Why not...

Isn't it typically round steak? Either way, battered and fried is the way to go for a quick meal.

    Betrayed by a rub

When testing store bought rub, taste the rub plain first. I've learned this the hard way too.... Or, yea, make your own. Better luck next time.

Almost bought a Lang 84 today,

Exactly. Allergic reactions are caused by proteins, not oils. So, high quality oil is not a problem because there are no proteins. But, if I had a peanut allergy, I probably would not risk a bad batch of oil either. Seems marginally risky, I mean we have toys with lead in them, so I'm...

    Baby Backs in a hurry

What do you think about the Holldand grills. THey have bene very popular around here for about 15 years or so, but I've never taken a liking to them. The anti-flare up works too darn good to me, and I can't seem to get it up to high searing temps. I like it when the grease flares up, but...

    Cleaning your cooking grill?

You mean you can clean grates????? Holy crap batman, I had no idea. Honestly, I just wire brush all of them. Maye once every decade a true wash. All that black stuff on the grate, that's non-stick coating. As long as it's not chunky, it's fine. Recently, my ceramic smoker had a nice mold...

    Photobucket not for me

With Imageshack, when I upload photos, I tell it to resize them for the forum. Then, when posting code, it gives you several code options. I think they both work here. But, when you copy the URL, delete the ".th" that it puts somewhere in the middle of the link, and they will no longer be...

Cheated and the Ribs were still great !

Around here, you should have started "Forgive me father, for I have sinned." But, admission is the first step you have a problem. I have had some great ribs this way, and I've had some really bad ones that were boiled. So, if you though they were good, who cares. Just don't make a habit...

    Doughnut Recipe??

Man what is it with you. Don't like streaky bacon, and now Krispy Kreme.... At least you like smoked meat......

    Are pesticides a problem?

3yrs, I wouldn't worry at all. Pesticides/herbicides are designed to be less persistent than that for safety reasons. Smoke on I say... Though I have never used crabapple, sounds great.

    Are pesticides a problem?

When was the last time they were sprayed? Most times it should not be a problem because most chmicals do not have long persistence, but if recent it can be an issue. You need to know the name of the chemical, it's properties, and when it was applied to be sure.

    wood boring insects

I can say it's def. not what we call the carpenter bees. Holes much too small for them. Ants......Maybe, I dunno. If anybody can ID bugs based on the screams as they burn, I'll see if I can record it.

How to use weed burner to start charcoal

I've been doing it for a while now. Maybe a year??? It could clog I suppose, but I just let it cool and blow any ash out after each burn. I don't use a compressor or anything, just my lungs. If you leave it on the whole time, it lights very fast. Or, you can turn it on for maybe 1 minute...

How to use weed burner to start charcoal

I stick my chimney over the gas grill side burner to light it. Works perfect, and coals are ready within 10 minutes or so. Never used the weed burner, but it can't me much different.
