Definitely smoke it. Don't over cook it and dry it out. Cook by internal temp to approx 150 slice and cover with Dutchs' Mohogany Sauce. It's a great way to finish the loin.

Not sure why you were stuck exactly but there is a file in the Windows files named MSDOS.SYS that is a read only file. It most likely would have shown SAFE Mode=1. That would have needed to be changed to Safe Mode=0. You would have needed to change the attributes...
